Circle In A Square (Sampler Granny Square Blanket Pt. 5)

Here is the fifth video for the Sampler Granny Square Blanket. This blanket will consist of 16 different squares with a minimum of 3 colors. Each square will be a different video so no need to rush. I will also have a video on how to sew the blanket together and put a border around the whole blanket.

Written instructions for the Circle in a Square

Beginning Shell: ch 3, double crochet, chain 2, 2 double crochets

Normal Shell: 2 double crochets, chain 2, 2 double crochets; all done in the same spot

With your color of choice: chain 5, slip stitch into the first ch to make a ring.

round 1: ch 3 (counts as a double crochet for the whole pattern), 15 double crochets in ring; join with slip stitch to top of beginning chain. 16 stitches

Round 2: ch. 4, ** double crochet in next double crochet, ch 1; repeat from ** around; join with slip stitch to third chain of beginning ch. 4

Round 3: slip stitch in first ch 1 space, ch. 3, (double crochet, chain 2, double crochet) in same space, ch 1, hdc in next ch 1 space, ch 1, single crochet in next ch 1 space, ch 1,, idc in next ch 1 space, chain 1, **(2 dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch 1 space (Shell made), ch 1, idc in next ch 1 space, ch 1, sc in next ch 1 space, ch 1, had in next ch 1 space, ch 1; repeat from ** around; join with slip stitch to first double crochet.

Rounds 4: Slip stitch in next double crochet and in first ch 2 space, chain 3, (dc, ch 2, 2dc) in same space, ch 2, (idc in next ch 1 space, ch 2) 4 times, ** work shell in next shell (ch 2 space), ch 2, (idc in next ch 1 space, ch 2) 4 times; repeat from ** around; join with slip stitch to first double crochet.

Round 5: Slip stitch in next double crochet and in first ch 2 space, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp, (2 dc in next ch 2 space) 5 times. ** work shell in next shell, (2dc, in next ch 2 space) 5 times; repeat from ** around; join with slip stitch in first double crochet; 56 double crochets.

Round 6: Ch 3, dc in next dc, (2 dc, ch. 3, 2 dc) in first ch. 2 space, ** dc in each dc across to next ch. 2 space, ( 2dc, ch. 3, 2dc) in next ch 2 space; repeat from ** 2 more times, dc in each dc across; join with slip stitch to first dc; 72 double crochets.

Round 7: Ch 1, sc in same stitch, sc in next 3 dc, 5sc in next ch 3 space, ** sc in each dc across to next ch 3 space, 5sc in next ch. 3 space; repeat from ** 2 more times, sc in each dc across; join with slip stitch to first sc; 92 single crochets.

Round 8: Ch 1, sc in same st, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4sc, 3sc in next sc, ** (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in next 4 sc, 3sc in next sc; repeat from ** 2 more times, (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, sc in last 4sc; join with slip stitch to first sc, finish off; 112 single crochets.
