Afghan Square (Sampler Granny Square Blanket Pt. 2)

Here is the second video for the Sampler Granny Square Blanket. This blanket will consist of 16 different squares with a minimum of 3 colors. Each square will be a different video so no need to rush. I will also have a video on how to sew the blanket together and put a border around the whole blanket.

Written instructions for the Afghan Square

Beginning Cluster: ch 3, (yarn over, insert hook in ring and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook) repeat 2 times. Yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

Normal Cluster: (Yarn over, insert hook in ring and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook) repeat 3 times. Yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

With your color of choice: chain 8, slip stitch into the first ch to make a ring.

round 1: work beginning cluster, ch. 5, normal cluster, ch 2, *normal cluster, ch 5, normal cluster in ring, ch. 2; repeat from * until you have 8 clusters. Join with a slip stitch into the top of the beginning ch. 3.

Round 2: Slip stitch to the first ch-5 space. , work a beginning cluster, ch. 3, normal cluster into the ch-5 space, ch. 2, 3dc in next ch. 2 space, ch. 2, * work normal cluster, ch. 3, normal cluster in next ch. 5 space., ch2, 3 dec in next ch. 2 space, ch2; repeat from * around; join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning ch. 3.

Round 3: slip stitch in first ch. 3 space, work beginning cluster, ch.3, normal cluster in same space, ch. 2, 2dc in next ch. 2 space, dc in next 3dc, 2dc in next ch. 2 space, ch.2, * work normal cluster, ch. 3, normal cluster in next ch. 3 space, ch. 2, 2dc in next ch. 2 space, dc in next 3dc, 2 dc in next ch. 2 space, ch. 2; repeat from * around; join with slip stitch to top of beginning ch. 3.

Rounds 4 and 5: slip stitch in first ch. 3 space, work beginning cluster, ch. 3 normal cluster in same space, ch. 2, 2dc in next ch.2 space, dec in each dc across to next ch. 2 space, 2 dc in next ch. 2 space, ch 2, * work normal cluster, ch. 3, normal cluster in next ch. 3 space, ch. 2, work 2 dc in next ch. 2 space, dc in each dc across to next ch.2 space, 2 dc in next ch. 2 space, ch. 2; repeat from * around; join with slip stitch to top of beginning chain 3. DO NOT FINISH OFF. (60 double crochets)

For edge: ch 1. Place 3 single crochets into corner, evenly place 25 single crochets down the edge. Each corner has 3 single crochets and each edge has 25 stitches. Slip stitch to first sc and fasten off.
