EDOF (extended depth-of-focus) is a novel intraocular lens (IOL) technology used to treat presbyopia. EDOF lenses, as opposed to multifocal (MF) IOLs, provide a single extended focal point, rather than many foci, to improve depth of focus. EDOF IOLs are designed to decrease photic phenomena, glare, and halos, which have been reported with MF IOLs.
