Sectoral Meeting: DepEd's Accomplishments and Plans, and CHED's Updates on Higher Education

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. convenes with key officials of the Department of Education (DepEd), headed by Vice President Sara Zimmerman Duterte as the concurrent Secretary, and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), to discuss updates, accomplishments and plans in a sectoral meeting at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace on July 11, 2023.

DepEd Undersecretary Atty. Michael Wesley Poa presents DepEd’s accomplishment report for the past year since President Marcos Jr. delivered his first State of the Nation Address (SONA). Other agenda items include initiatives and other programs to be rolled out to capacitate teachers, enhance learning and promote the welfare of students.

Meanwhile, CHED Chairperson J. Prospero De Vera III gives a presentation on the achievements of the Commission, as well as updates on its priority areas particularly quality education, equitable access and sustained funding for higher education.
