Making Heavy Duty Roller Stands! | Part 1 | Shop Made Tools

Описание к видео Making Heavy Duty Roller Stands! | Part 1 | Shop Made Tools

This is part 1 of showing step by step how to make heavy duty roller stands! These stands will be used in our machining area to support long jobs that go through the spindle headstock of the lathe. We already have a stand but it’s not very functional so we’re going to make something better. To make these stands we are using steel plate, solid bar, hollow bar, roller wheels and a few other bits and pieces. In this video we show machining the solid bar before cutting a 12tpi external thread. We machine up the hollow bar to suit the support plates and we also use the milling machine to mill slots into the solid bar which will be used to lock the rollers from turning. Unfortunately we had to cut this project short and put it on hold due to the rain, stay tuned for Part 2 where we finish building these roller stands!

In this video we are using:
- Hafco MetalMaster TM-26120G Centre Lathe
- Hafco MetalMaster BM-63VE Milling machine
