How to DRILL & TAP Hard Jaws | Big Lathe Chuck

We show how easy it is to drill and tap the hard jaws on a lathe chuck! We've got a new 3 Jaw Chuck for our big Shenyang lathe and need to set it up with bolt on soft brass pads. We do this with all our 3 jaw chucks to make set ups of chrome rods simple and quick. We show the step by step process of drilling and tapping the hard jaws of the chuck and also make up the brass pads that are bolted on to the jaws. This is a quick, easy fix to solve the problem of dropping & searching for shims in the chip tray!
