Travels by Narrowboat - "Guilt Trip" - S08E11

The long, arduous climb through the endless locks of 'Heartbreak Hill' and the far reaching 'terrors' of Harecastle Tunnel, are now a distant memory.

From now on, even though the remainder of the Trent & Mersey Canal to Great Haywood Junction still provides many locks, there's thankfully less off them 'and' they're all down hill.

Despite originally planning to take the day off, the 'guilt' of simply sitting around doing nothing gets the better of me and I decide to continue on, passing Tunstall.

Later I travel through the Middleport Potteries and Etruria, then chosing to make a long day of it, I tackle the first of the 5 locks, that will lead me towards Stoke-On-Trent and beyond.

On the way, I indulge in an uncharacteristic but respectful rant, regarding the apparent obsession over the past 5 years, with Aslan's smoking exhaust.
