woodturning a hollow form of cherry wood and epoxy resin

Описание к видео woodturning a hollow form of cherry wood and epoxy resin

I made a hollow form from a grafted piece of cherry wood and epoxy resin.
First I turned the wood to size so that it fits in the mold and treated it with sealer.
I then placed the wood in the mold and filled it with epoxy resin and vented
it in a vacuum chamber and later let it harden under atmospheric pressure.
When the epoxy resin had hardened, I turned it into a hollow form.
I wanted to make a hollow form with a raised edge, but during the hollowing process it flew off the lathe and damaged the raised side and the edge of the recess.
I repaired the recess with epoxy resin, but the raised edge could no longer be saved, so I turned it off.
Furthermore, I treated the hollow form with sealer and then sanded and finished with friction polish.
The hollow form has a diameter of 25 centimeters and is 16 centimeters high
