Police are investigating the alleged assault of a cameraman after a group of men surrounded Outback Wrangler star Matt Wright as he walked through Darwin Airport today.

There were dramatic scenes as Mr Wright arrived in Darwin, where he is expected to be charged over a helicopter crash which killed co-star Chris Wilson.

He has been told he has until 9am Wednesday to hand himself into police.
