In the 1990s, Shawn Crahan and Paul Gray founded Slipknot, a nine-member band that performs aggressive hard rock while wearing foreboding masks. As Slipknot's fame escalated, Crahan faced personal tragedy when he lost both parents. In 2010, six months after Slipknot completed a 153-stop tour at some of the largest venues in the world, Paul Gray died, leaving an open wound for the surviving eight members. During a lecture at Drake University, Crahan shares stories about the origins of the band, success, and how he is healing from the loss of those close to him.
