Yamaha имеет богатую историю раллийных гонок, которая восходит к середине 70-х годов.Оригинальная модель Ténéré помогла Yamaha стать самым успешным брендом на Дакаре: модели XT заняли 18 подиумов в первых 6 выпусках самой сложной гонки в мире.Новый Ténéré 700 собрал плоды всей этой гоночной истории, и Yamaha превратила его в легкий туристический эндуро с выдающейся надежностью.Вообще слово Tenere означает пустыня или дикая местность и первый мотоцикл с таким названием появился в 1983 г им стала модель XT600Z.Новый мотоцикл ,который наделал много шуму в виде прототипа еще в 2017 ,получил
два названия,основное это просто Yamaha Ténéré 700,а второе заводское Yamaha XTZ690.Офицально новый туристический эндуро был представлен в 2019г,а частичные продажи начались только в 2020,полностью же доступным на всех рынках мотоцикл стал только в 2021г.
