One would imagine that a 30-year-old guitarist whose biggest claim to fame was co-writing a song that might have been on the failed TV show “Joanie Loves Chachi” would have been thrilled to be brought on board to replace Ace Frehley in KISS.
Not so.
From day one, Vincent Cusano aka “Vinnie Vincent” was difficult to work with. He refused to sign any contract with the band and bitched about wearing a wig that would cover his own “Gerber Baby” hair. And to make matters worse, he would constantly highjack KISS shows with an insufferably long guitar solo that would clear out arenas on a tour that was already suffering from low attendance. He was there when KISS “unmasked” themselves and removed their trademark makeup for “Lick It Up”. The world was SHOCKED when Vinnie’s face was revealed.
Oh, the humanity.
