'We’ve got a Labor government that’s completely out of control': Tim Smith

Victorian Liberal MP Tim Smith has called on crossbenchers to oppose the new pandemic legislation proposed by the Andrews government.

“We’ve got a Labor government that’s completely out of control; we’ve got a Labor government that's drunk on its own hubris, its own power if you like, and quite frankly, this is one of the most terrifying pieces of legislation I’ve ever seen,” Mr Smith told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“The Liberal and National parties will not stop our opposition to this; if we win the next election, we’ll tear apart these heinous laws; they’re an assault to all freedom loving Australians; they’re foreign to this land.

“We call on all reasonable and fair-minded crossbenchers ... please oppose this legislation, it’s wrong for Victoria, its wrong for our future, and it’s a fundamental assault on our liberties and our freedoms.”
