2024 Rolex Watches! My New Rolex Watch Predictions for the 2024 Model Year

2024 Rolex watches are coming soon. Late 2023 Rolex model launches could happen at any time. Tonight, Tim Mosso predicts the upcoming Rolex watch models and changes for 2024 and the remainder of the 2023 calendar year. With the 60th anniversary of the Rolex Daytona in the rearview mirror and the 70th anniversary suspiciously quiet up to this point, expect Rolex to spring a surprise late this year. For 2024, expect to see serious focus on the 70th Anniversary of the Rolex GMT Master and GMT Master II.

2023 was a big year for Rolex. Watch buyers expected and received a massive crop of new Cosmograph Daytona models. The platinum (126506) and white gold Daytona chronographs received unprecedented sapphire display casebacks. For the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of LeMans, Rolex launched the reference 126529, a tribute to the Rolex "Paul Newman" Daytona of the 1960s and 1970s. Its unique 24-hour chronograph register, caliber 4132, and "red 100" tachymeter scale set this Daytona apart from even the platinum Cosmorgraph model. The new Rolex Paul Newman effectively becomes the successor to the 2013 platinum Daytona 50th anniversary model.

Despite the significance of the seventieth anniversary of the Rolex Submariner, the Sub, which was last redesigned for 2020, saw few changes in early 2023. Many Rolex collectors continue to anticipate a late model year launch that will keep the anniversary Rolex Sub unencumbered by the attention paid to the rest of the 2023 collection. A 70th anniversary Rolex Submariner could take any form, but Tim would love to see a vintage Rolex 5510 tribute with Explorer dial, chapter ring, big crown guards, no date, big crown, and a platinum case. The actual anniversary - if there is to be one - remains a mystery.

Tim anticipates a very special year for the Rolex GMT-Master II (126710) in 2024. The 70th anniversary of the Rolex GMT pilot's watch carries the same weight as the Sub and Daytona. As part of Rolex's core-three watch models, the GMT holds a huge place in the hearts of Rolex watchmakers, Rolex dealers, and Rolex buyers. Rolex CEO Jean-Frederic Dufour reportedly adores the GMT, so anticipate something special for 2024. Tim predicts that a new GMT-Master (not a Master II) and a return to the "Coke Bezel" could be in the cards.

Never underestimate the imagination of Rolex product planners. Given the recent success of the Daytona - arguably Rolex's most waitlisted watch at the moment - expansion of the Daytona line to meet dealer demand is a real possibility. A return to the Rolex Dato-Compax, manual wind vintage-inspired chronographs, and motorsports-inspired split seconds and flyback chronograph could be part of an expanded Rolex Daytona family of watches.
