With WCW Nitro on TNT and WWF Raw is War on USA Network airing at the same time every Monday night, fans had a choice to make. WWF and WCW battled it out week after week during the fabled "Monday Night Wars", and Reliving The War takes a look these battles by covering every match and promo of the era.

Eric Bischoff has a special surprise this week on WCW Nitro. Wanting to show that fans what Nitro could look like if he wins his Starrcade match, the nWo completely take the show over and WCW Nitro becomes nWo Nitro. nWo Nitro has a new theme, a new entranceway, a new opening package, this is truly a test run for what Nitro could become (if the ratings remained steady). This is the final Nitro before WCW Starrcade 97.

On the WWF channel Sgt. Slaughter has a surprise too for D-Generation X; Shawn Michaels must defend his European Championship against Triple H. HBK vs HHH takes place in the Raw main event but DX have everything figured out. We also see what happened when Stone Cold Steve Austin met Santa.
