Invertible Counterpoint Etude # 5

Описание к видео Invertible Counterpoint Etude # 5

This example focuses on inverting common intervals
and seeing their relationships on the fingerboard.

Here we are in the key of No Sharps/No Flats
and move between Root position & First inversion to
First inversion & Second inversion, i.e.,
C and E, E and G
to
E and C, G and E.
We are then descending diatonically through the key
utilizing the same mechanism.

This simple etude promotes swapping themes from
one voice to another as we strengthen our familiarity
with a larger segment of the fingerboard than that
of regular position playing.
It also explores the fingering basics needed
to make these melodic inversions happen in the moment.
Experiment with melodies or themes in the soprano
that are then played in the bass.
