DID WE SURF THE LONGEST WAVE IN THE WORLD??

Описание к видео DID WE SURF THE LONGEST WAVE IN THE WORLD??

From the archives... watch as Rizal Tandjung and his son Varun travel to Sumatra on a mission to surf the Bono tidal river wave, nicknamed "7 Ghosts" for the mystical nature and local legends surrounding the seemingly endless waves that break there.

The wave in the Kampar River can rise up to 10ft and travel up to 50km. In theory you can ride this wave for more than 1 hour! These tidal bore waves come in just 1 set per day. In order to surf them, you have to wait for the set to come into the area. Once the set arrives, you have to catch them with jet-ski assist (as shown in the video). If you fall, you have to use the jet-ski to speed back to the same wave, and then make the drop again.
