Colin Farrell Teases 'Twisted Eight Hours' Of DC TV In The Batman Spinoff Series

The Penguin star Colin Farrell opens up more on how The Batman spinoff series will be one of the most intense DC shows of all time. Matt Reeves is getting ready to expand The Batman universe, starting with The Penguin TV show, which will feature Farrell back as the iconic Gotham City supervillain. Outside of Gotham, The Penguin will be the first time a specific Batman villain headlines their own live-action TV series.

Last week, Max debuted a brand new The Penguin trailer, giving a bigger insight into the DC TV drama. In a new interview with MovieZine, Farrell gave a new update on The Penguin TV show, teasing where the series will take Oz Cobb next after the ending of The Batman:

Everything We Know About The Penguin TV Show
The Penguin TV show will pick up after the massive conclusion in The Batman, with Gotham City getting flooded. Max is marketing The Penguin as "the next chapter in The Batman saga," alluding to the idea that they may be doing some crucial setups for The Batman - Part II. While no premiere date has been set yet, The Penguin is expected to launch sometime in the fall.

Throughout The Penguin season 1, Oz will be dealing with other mob forces, including the rise of Sofia Falcone, played by Cristin Milioti. Despite being a comic book show, The Penguin will essentially be a mobster drama, exploring various criminal corners in Gotham City, which will include introducing Salvatore Maroni, portrayed by Clancy Brown. There have been rumors that Robert Pattinson's Batman will show up in some capacity, but that has yet to be confirmed at this time.

If The Penguin is set to release in the fall, it is possible the DC Max show may have a presence at big events like San Diego Comic-Con to get a bigger audience lined up for the series. Given that it won't be until 2026 that The Batman - Part II comes out, The Penguin will seemingly be the last time for a while that the universe is shown before the wait for the sequel. As such, hopefully more news on The Penguin will arrive in the coming months.
