A Guppy Having Babies

A very detailed and fact-filled look at a pregnant mother guppy giving birth to 37 babies in a tropical freshwater aquarium.

Length of Pregnancy: 30 days (approx.)

Time Until Babies Get Their Color - males typically start to show some color at about 3 weeks of age, but it will not be until they are about 3 months old before they have all of their color.

Time Until Sexual Maturity - 3 - 5 months
