In the face of uncertain circumstances, we human beings tend to crave for more power, wanting a sense of control and security to change the powerless nature of these situations. These circumstances may come in the form of crippling health issues, unjust decisions at work or difficult family situations; and whatever they may be, the sense of helplessness is something that no one enjoys.

Yet in the face of imminent death on the cross, Jesus chose to be powerless. He could have called down legions of angels to save Him, but He chose not to!

If we knew we were going to die, would we not do all that we can to escape? So why did Jesus choose not to? So that we can be saved. What Jesus demonstrated was true power.

Philippians 2:6-8
“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”

By understanding the power of Christ through the cross, we will experience a spiritual transformation in our hearts and minds. We can have hope that even though we’re not perfect and are all works-in-progress, or be so different from one another, we can still be united in reflecting the constant - the power of Christ.
