RUSSIAN media showed the aftermath of an alleged drone attack on an airfield in the Russian region of Kursk on Tuesday (December 6), a day after drone strikes were reported in two other locations in Russia.

The location on video, released by media outlet Ostorozhno Novosti, was verified by the terrain, towers, fire and black smoke in the video which matched corroborating video where the runway and airport buildings could be identified.

A local official said on Tuesday that a drone has struck the airfield in Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, setting fire to an oil storage tank.

Kursk Governor Roman Starovoyt said on social media that there were no casualties as a result of the alleged drone attack and that the fire had been brought under control.

He later said that the region had held a meeting of its "anti-terrorist commission" but did not say who was responsible for the incident.

The city of Kursk is about 100 kilometres (62 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
