Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese says a Labor government will introduce legislation in the next parliament to make 10 days paid domestic and family violence leave the “law of the land” if elected on May 21.

“It should be an entitlement for everyone,” he said during an address to the National Press Club in Canberra.

Mr Albanese said Labor “welcomes” the recent decision made by the Fair Work Commission to support 10 days of paid domestic violence leave at the base rate of pay for workers employed under modern awards.
