Описание к видео Ask GN 109: Who Actually Makes NVIDIA FE Cards? 2 vs. 4 RAM Sticks?

Who Actually Makes NVIDIA’s Cards?

01:33 Andrew Crews: A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Ed from Sapphire said they are the OEM for AMD cards. Who makes NVIDIA's?

2 vs. 4 Sticks (or 4 vs. 8) in Motherboards?

09:16 Net Walker: “Q: AMD X570 boards. Is there any difference running just 2 ram slots over running all 4 slots?”

Why Is CPU Silicon So Small?

14:18 VCJester: “#askgn-questions if die size has so much to do with heat, why are the dies on chips like the 9900k so small? Couldn't they spread those circuits out in a bigger die, and make them way easier to cool? Is silicon that expensive? Does it create too much latency, or require more voltage, even if we are talking distances measured in nanometers?”

Will a 3600 Limit a 2080 Ti?

19:58 deminybs: “Do you think the R5 3600 @ 4.3ghz is enough to get full potential out of a 2080ti ??”

Windows & Background Processes

22:31 peepzorz: “Regarding the issue of inconsistent testing due to Windows background updates etc, I wonder if disconnecting from the internet during each test run would help keep things more consistent?”

What Happens If You Mismatch RAM Sticks?

26:22 Andy Hutchinson: “Question, think it was too late for Paul's channel this month, but hoping to find some answer out of interest now (excuse that bit because as you said, I hadn't seen and Ask GN in a while). What effect does including sticks from differing RAM kits have on a system. And by that I mean nearly all things being equal, manufacturer, timings and speed etc except the box it came from. I don't have a big enough sample, but I've maybe done this in about 5 differing systems, mixing kits. e.g. 4 8GB sticks from 2 16GB kits and have never noticed any major issues, apart from the odd dodgy stick. Not sure about minor as it was a case of it worked, so fine. I've never seen any definitive answer for this, putting aside all the internet comments where you have no idea of the persons qualifications to answer the question. 3 of those mix and match were from the days before XMP, saying that because not sure if that would be a factor.”

Australian Viewers Answer: Which Way Do Fans Spin?

28:54 Winnie Blue: “Hi Steve, Australian here. Actually due to the reversed hemisphere and thus convection flow, we instead intake hot air into our PC's which is then cooled down and used as AC for our rooms. This is quite handy as ambient temp in Australia is usually hotter than what most chips run at. Fans spin the same way, we just install them upside down.”
