The Institute of Public Affairs’ Gideon Rozner says the federal election “may come down to Queensland” and people could see some “serious upsets” in the state.

Mr Rozner said it will be “harder” for the Coalition to win seats in Queensland because many were “red hot” against Bill Shorten’s climate target in the 2019 election.

“I think we are going to see some real surprises with parties like One Nation polling well in seats like Flynn, Write and Capricornia,” Mr Rozner told Sky News host Jenna Clarke.

“Will it be enough for one of those parties to win a lower house seat? That remains to be seen.”
