Schumer Gives Republicans Another Chance To Prove They Aren't All Corrupt Jerks

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has decided to give Republicans one last chance to convince the public that they aren't 100% evil villains by bringing the insulin cap legislation back for another vote in the near future. This is a very generous act by Schumer, and it is politically smart because voting it down again will only hurt Republicans, and passing it is a win for the Democrats. So, as everybody knows by now, Republicans killed a provision of the inflation reduction act that would've capped insulin costs for non-Medicare, uh, patients at $35 per month, we found a way to cap those insulin prices. With this legislation, would've saved billions of dollars as a country. Would've made it to where people no longer had to ration their insulin or travel up to Canada to buy it here in this country. And only seven Republicans supported it, which means it got 57. Yes, votes 43 NA votes. And because of our idiotic Senate rules, it didn't have the 60 to break out. So it died cuz not enough Republicans supported it. Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer has decided he's gonna give Republicans one more chance. He wants to bring this independent piece of legislation. Now that's what they're gonna do with the insulin cap to another vote in the Senate, in the very near future because Chuck Schumer wants to give Republicans again, one more chance to prove to this country that they're all, not a bunch of corrupt bastards.

And to be honest, that's a smart political play for Chuck Schumer because there's no downside for Chuck in this. Think about it. Chuck Schumer brings this legislation in a standalone bill to the floor of the Senate, gets everybody to cast their votes. Best case scenario. It passes. We got $35 a month caps on insulin. Everybody wins in that case, but the Democrats definitely win for making a big delivery to the American public. So Schumer wins worst case scenario Republicans, once again, band together and kill the legislation. Millions of people in this country suffer. But politically speaking, Chuck Schumer wins again because then he and all of the other Democrats get to go back out there on the campaign trail and tell people, look what the Republicans just did to you. We could have lowered the cost of your insulin. We could have saved lives. And these greedy corrupt a-hole said no, they don't care about you.

They're okay with you losing your life savings because you have diabetes. They're okay with you having to ration your insulin just because they want to appease their corporate donors. So again, Republicans vote it down. Democrats still win the public loses of course, but the public also gets to see who made them lose again win-win situation for Chuck Schumer here, because again, the best case scenario is that we get it passed and we get those caps on insulin prices. There is no downside to this. This again is a very smart move by Chuck Schumer. I don't know that I've ever sat here and praised

Chuck Schumer for anything, but I'm gonna give him full credit for this because this is smart. It's a no lose situation for the Democrats and it has the chance to make the lives of millions of people suffering from diabetes in this country. A little bit better.
