HORTA 🇵🇹 Faial Drone Aerial 4K 2024 | Azores Açores Portugal

Horta (2024) is the stunning capital of the Faial Island. Faial is part of the Azores archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and part of Portugal. The Azores are halfway Europe and the Americas. The Etymology of the name Horta is uncertain. Although Horta or Hortus in Greek means Green Vegetables, the name could also be derived from the Flemish nobleman Van Huerter who arrived on the island in 1467. In Portuguese 'Horta' means 'Orchard'. Faial island has 15,000 inhabitants of which around 7,000 live in Horta.

Main attractions of the city are the marina, the Mount Guia, the churches of Carmo and Angustias Churches, the Miradoura of Nossa Senhora da Conceicao, the Santa Cruz Fortress, the Dragon Tree in the public Park, the Town Hall, the Horta Bay and the Whale Museum.
