In June 2017, the IJF visited Russia to film its new episode of the Judo for the World. After Japan, Cuba, Brazil, Hungary, Zambia, Australia, India, Nepal, Peru, Turkey, the IJF went to discover Dagestan in the South of Russia, where two London Olympic Champions (Mansur Isaev and Tagir Khaibulaiev) where born. The film also focussed on Arsen Galstyan, who was born in Armenia and moved to Russia when he was a child.

After visiting Dagestan and discovering its incredible diversity of landscape and cultures, the IJF team visited Siberia and discovered how judo has become a growing activity. Krasnoyarsk and Minusinsk were among the places that were visited, as well as the Republic of Khakassia and its incredible culture and heritage.
