The Lallantop Fact Check: Amid coronavirus outbreak n India, a video of a police van is going viral on Facebook. In the viral video, some policemen are taking the accused wearing white T-shirts in the van. In the video, this accused is seen spitting on the policeman. In this 27-second video, on the third second, the accused spits on the policeman and then the policemen beat him up. This viral video is being tried to connect to the Coronavirus outbreak. In the past, some videos have surfaced of threatening to spread COVID-19 infection by spitting.
The Lallantop investigated the claim. In the investigation of The Lallantop’s Padtaal team, the claim was found to be misleading. The incident dates back to March 2, 2020, when the Mumbai police were taking the accused in a van. It has nothing to do with the coronavirus spread in India.
