Описание к видео The Effects of One Exercise Bout on Skeletal Muscle Insulin Signalling

The Journal of Physiology Virtual Journal Club

Paper under discussion: The insulin‐sensitizing effect of a single exercise bout is similar in type I and type II human muscle fibre (Larsen MR, Steenberg DE, Birk JB, Sjøberg KA, Kiens B, Richter EA, Wojtaszewski JFP. The Journal of Physiology; DOI: 10.1113/JP280475)

In this Virtual Journal Club, host Dr Henver Brunetta discussed the manuscript with author Magnus Larsen (University of Copenhagen, Denmark). The host introduced the chosen paper and his reasons for selecting it and Larsen explained the rationale, methodology, and major findings of the study. The panel discussed the implications of their findings in the context of exercise and metabolism, undercovering the positive effects of exercise on skeletal muscle insulin signalling in type I and type II fibres.

Dr Javier Gonzalez, a Fellow on the Editorial Board of The Journal of Physiology, advised on the key factors that made this study to the publishable standards of The Journal. Questions that were submitted by the audience were answered and discussed by the panel.

There was a 30-minute networking session after the Virtual Journal Club meeting where attendees were able to meet and reflect on the conversations had during the meeting.
