After Peter explains what they're going to do, Ben and Ellen perform extempore some heavyweight counterpoint in this excerpt from a VivaVoce concert May 17, 2014. One thing he doesn't explain is why "ut" was eliminated from the cantus firmus. It's because everybody had agreed not to go beyond a nine-note CF so as to make the counterpoint easier to memorize.
