To go into a bit more detail, it's never been a "good" build, and I'll always push this variant of AD Thresh forward more as a meme. His range is low so you're already crutching on a Rapid Firecannon to be viable (without hook combo), your waveclear is bad without AP, so you're also crutching on Statikk Shiv for that, and even past all that, it takes 10 seconds to charge full power, and after that one shot, you're mostly done and become a near-generic AD marksman unless you have a LOT of Souls.
I think there are better ways to play AD Thresh, and better ways to play Mid Thresh... Perhaps there's one yet unexplored...
