Bushwookie NW 10 месяцев назад A little piece of me died inside when I seen him start digging. Haha not to mention what he could build with a crap ton of those little pieces of shale or slate that were coming up. All I have is thick layers of clay here in the PNW. Pottery and hearty earth hearths are a major part of bushcraft here. Haha

  • Brook Eggleston
Brook Eggleston 1 месяц назад @James Kenyon Yeah; I kept thinking that he'd be better off with square knots, or a square on top of a granny, which is a pretty solid combination.

  • Fred Williams
Fred Williams Год назад I've got 2 criticisms, but I don't want to be " that guy ". I really do like the start of this shelter. Ok, 1st, sharpen that hatchet and it'll work better. 2nd, as someone else mentioned, square knots instead of those granny knots you tied. Ok, here's what I liked. The roof system was very nice. Using large slabs of bark, to make the troughs and ridges looked good. Then using the rolled sod made quick work to cover it and blend it with nature. As far as the tree huggers that say you're making to much of a "footprint", ignore them. Left alone, you won't see much more than the way it looked when you first walked up to it in a year or two. So, overall, I like it. Great job young man.

Brook Eggleston 1 месяц назад Hell, it'll probably take a few months before the sod grows back, as long as you don't take too much out of one place. After all, there's a reason the stuff grows!
