Elsa and Anna Are NOT Disney Princesses (Frozen Economics)

After Frozen's release, Elsa and Anna quickly became fan favorites. But they are NOT Disney Princesses. Frozen II will not make them Disney Princesses. Not even Disney+ can make them Disney Princesses. Why? Economics.

Disney Princess is actually a brand created to take advantage of Disney's weaker characters. Elsa and Anna, on the other hand, have enough brand power themselves that they are part of the standalone Frozen brand. Disney has no incentive to combine brands, so Elsa and Anna will not become Disney Princesses.
