Triple Crown of Surfing Highlights

1990. The Triple Crown of Surfing is one of the world's most prized surf contest series. For decades the best surfers in the world have competed in the most challenging waves on the planet. The Triple Crown of Surfing is the true test to any and all pro surfers and to win it even just once solidifies surf legend status.

Derek Ho won the Haleiwa Hard Rock World Cup of Surfing and the coveted Triple Crown- this was his 4th win! Tom Carrol, the winner of the 20th Marui Pipe Masters and Nicky Wood wins the Billabong Pro Sunset Beach. It was a classic triple crown and finale to the ASP tour, where Tom Curren won his 3rd World Surfing Title.

After winning the 1990 Triple Crown of Surfing, Derek dedicates his win to the late, great legendary Pipeline surfer Ronnie Burns who passed away in the summer of 1990.

Derek Ho is a legendary World Champion Surfer and is missed by all of us in the surfing tribe (1964-2020). Sincere condolences again to his family and close friends 💛.
