The inspiration behind this video:

In Zack Snyder's Justice League, Harry Lennix's General Swanwick showed up at Batman's residence in his full Martian Manhunter form. He let Bruce know he'd be an ally in what was a very inorganic scene. Shoddy CGI aside, one has to wonder why he didn't join the superheroes in the war here against Steppenwolf and the Parademons from Apokolips. Or, why he didn't try to work with Superman in Man of Steel. An earlier appearance from Martian Manhunter could have helped Superman in the battle against an invading General Zod and his Kryptonian soldiers.

Things like this could have helped show the world these aliens wanted to be friends, which would've been easy given Swanwick knew the military ropes on Earth for years. If Swanwick had vouched for Superman, This could have reduced the collateral damage and prevented Batman's murderous plan to eliminate the Last Son of Krypton. But Snyder never planted that seed about Swanwick being J'onn J'onzz. Instead, he kept J'onn on the sidelines, let Earth nearly go extinct, and made J'onn a coward who let Superman take the fall. Thus, his appearance on Justice League's finale felt like a novelty move rather than anything significant.
