As the Russian invasion of Ukraine enters its third week, a Ukrainian far-right military regiment is back in the headlines. Russian President Vladimir Putin cited “denazifying” Ukraine as one of the objectives of his offensive against Kyiv. Azov is a far-right all-volunteer infantry military unit whose members are ultra-nationalists. As a battalion, the group fought on the front lines against pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk, the eastern region of Ukraine.
