The Australian's National Editor Dennis Shanahan says "the trend is the same" in all of the election polls coming out.

"Labor's primary vote is either steady or going down, the Coalition's primary vote is either steady or going up," Mr Shanahan told Sky News Australia.

"Support for Scott Morrison as prime minister is either steady or going up, and support for Anthony Albanese is either steady or going down."

He also said the polls are showing none of the major parties have 40 per cent primary vote, meaning we are looking at the likelihood of a hung parliament.
