CLEVER DIY TOYS and Fluffy Slime Sam

Slime Sam is no stranger to handmade toys. In fact, most of his kids' toys are handcrafted. But most of the times he is not willing to go an extra mile to get a cute toy. Meaning? He doesn't want to help Sue make toys that are difficult and time-consuming.

Take stuffed animals. He LOVES them but one thought of actually sewing and making them makes him cringe. Sue always has something up her sleeve and this time it's some no-sew toys fo Slime Sam! Well, almost no-sew, Sue is actually using a thread and a needle but you can totally use hot glue.

In this compilation, you will see two of the most cherished toys of Sam, a reversible flip plushie that features both a penguin and an owl and... fluffy slime. Ok, ok, fluffy cloud slime is really an anti-stress toy and can't compare to a stuffed animal but there's an exception to every tule. Sam gives Sue a side-eye when Sue doesn't make new slime friends for him:D



It all started with Sam having a really hard time making a choice. Any choice. Chocolate or cookie? Brown pencil or blue pencil? And then Sue made worse by asking Sam to help her decide what plush to make! Sam got so upset that he fainted! Just in time, Sue figured out that she could actually make a two-faced flip toy and calm Sam down.

Sue will be making a cute owl and an adorable penguin out of plush socks.

To make a reversible sock toy you will need:

- 2 socks of different colors;

- an empty bottle;

- polyester fiber (stuffing);

- a white sock;

- scissors;

- hot glue or thread and needle (Sue is using a needle and a thread but you can use hot glue to put the toy together).



TUTORIAL:

1. Put a colored sock on an empty bottle (just so it doesn't stick to itself or so you don't accidentally sew both parts together).

2. Use hot glue and glue on pieces of polyester fiber stuffing all around the sock. Be very careful with hot glue, guys! It's always better to ask an adult for help!

3. Now that your plush sock on a stick (bottle, hehe) looks like a cotton candy cloud) it's time to use another colored sock. Pull it on this stuffing cloud to cover it completely. You basically will have 3 layers of toy pulled over a bottle. One colored sock, a layer of stuffing and the second sock.

4. Cut off the excess and sew it shut. The stitches should be really close to each other so the stuffing doesn't fall out.

5. Now that you have your base you can start flipping the toy, it's already really fun! But we also need to decorate it so it looks like two different animals. First, sew on the white sock parts (refer to the video for details) so the animals look more realistic.

5. Then sew on the little black beads, they will be the eyes of the animals.

6. Use crushed pastels and a brush to make the marks on white parts of the toy and make it even cuter!

7. Don't forget about the beaks! We used felt for both beaks.

We made an owl and a penguin but you can do any animal you like! We're curious how would cat-dog combo look like? Or a giraffe-pig? There's no limit here, let your creativity run wild and see where it takes you! These toys are amazing to play with and can be your bed buddy too. You can even make it as a gift to someone special! Or you can put different emotion on both animals and flip it according to your mood.


For fluffy slime you will need:

- borax;

- shaving foam;

- foam soap;

- body lotion;

- cornstarch;

- food coloring.



Poor Slime Sam couldn't sleep on his terrible bed and he really neede something special to replace it with. What can better for slime than slime? Nothing! Sue will show you how to mix ingredients together and make the fluffiest cloud slime there is! Of course, you don't have to use it as a bed or even as a pillow, in fact, we don't recommend it at all. But it's so fun to play with and soooo relaxing! Give it a try and let us know what you think!
