Red-Bellied Woodpecker - Learn a Bird Episode #27

Описание к видео Red-Bellied Woodpecker - Learn a Bird Episode #27

Dan Gardoqui of Lead with Nature shares a little bit about the life of a common backyard, city park and suburban woodpecker.

Reb-bellied woodpeckers have been spreading their range northward in N. America as climate change allows them to live in places that used to have much longer, colder winters. The abundance of bird feeders put out by humans helps a lot as well. This species' name refers to a subtle reddish-orangish coloration on the belly of the bird - not easy to see.
A group of woodpeckers is known as a "drumming" or a "descent" of woodpeckers.
