MINI ZEN GARDEN “KARENSANSUI” (Woodworks/Arts & Crafts/Dry Landscape)

It’s a miniature Zen Garden. It’s a dry landscape called as Karensansui.
Zen Garden with sand recreate the essence of nature. It is a way of life and increases mindfulness and meditation. It reduces stress, that when you rake those sand and creating swirl patterns helps calm your mind.

I love making miniature landscapes especially with real bonsais and I have some made back home in the Philippines.

So, with my own creation... made this box b’coz of the sand that I have saved for a while. These are real Waikiki Sand that a friend brought me from the island years ago when they had a vacation.
I though it would be cool if I’ll use them and what better way to use them is to have this concept. Though these aren’t the best sand to use.

Mostly everything here is crafted especially the little creek which I used an epoxy pour. Everything were glued up, including all the figurines which I’ve purchased and the artificial we stones & rocks, except the sand.

The whole process for this project will be uploaded separately.

This will be shipped to my home in the Philippines for our living room center table.
