One eaglet fell out of the nest into the sticks on the side of the nest on May 1st and was rescued today and put back into the nest. Per the Institute for Wildlife Studies "Thank you to Nicole (U.S. Navy) and Sean (Crew Leader for IWS' San Clemente Loggerhead Shrike Project) for putting the Bald Canyon chick back into the nest and making some nest upgrades."

My heartfelt thanks to the IWS team for rescuing this 3 week old eaglet and for adding to the nest guard rails to help ensure they both stay safe! Wonderful team effort and than you to Nicole and Sean for this rescue.

The eaglet is doing well and Dad gave it a feeding not long after it was put back into the nest. The eaglets are 24 & 22 days old! Thank you for watching!

The male and female eagles are unidentified in this nest. The first chick hatched on 4/8/24 around 1930. The second chick hatched on 4/10 at 0800.

The Bald Canyon nest is located on U.S. Navy property on San Clemente Island, CA. The birds were first discovered working on a nest in a remote canyon in 2014. There is no audio per U.S. Navy guidelines, so ambient audio has been added. Read about their nesting history at: https://www.iws.org/bald-canyon-nest-...
