Troops with the peace implementation force in Bosnia (IFOR) seized a large number of illegally-held weapons from Muslims in the Bosnian village of Judici, in the Serb-controlled half of the country, on Saturday (21/9). The weapons, which included hand grenades, were declared illegal under the Dayton Agreement. Russian IFOR soldiers confiscated them and detained six Muslims. Several hundred others crowded outside the Russian field command post and demanded the six be freed, as soldiers brandished their rifles in a bid to deter them. Eventally, the six were released and the weapons removed to IFOR
headquarters.
