Today, we're looking at the opening books of two of the most ambitious sci-fi and fantasy series: Dune and the Wheel of Time. I'll be comparing them to each other, seeing how they immerse a reader into their worlds, etc. All in good fun -- obviously these series are vastly different, but considering their upcoming adaptations, I thought this would be a fun experiment.
