Extra Mural Lectures (Estd. in 1982) - Flagship lecture series, IIT Madras aiming to facilitate interaction between students and speakers from diverse fields.

Anand Ranganathan, a scientist and author, holds a BSc (Hons) from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and a PhD from Cambridge, UK. He worked at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology before becoming a full Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University. His lab focuses on Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Anand Ranganathan writes and appears frequently on television debates, on Politics, Media, and Science. His columns have appeared in Swarajya, DNA, NL, Firstpost, and Quartz. He is also the Consulting Editor of Swarajya.
