Throughout the reign of King Henry VIII, there were 70,000 executions that occurred inside of England. The Tudor monarch had many people hanged, drawn and quartered and even had two of his own wives executed inside the walls of the Tower of London. But one of the most shocking executions to take place was of an 11 year old girl named Alice Glaston. Inside the market town of Much Wenlock, Alice Glaston was brought to a scaffold where she was executed alongside two other men. But she was just a child when this happened, and was 11 years old.

But the Tudor laws stated that anyone over the age of 7 could be held criminally responsible, but Alice's crimes have been lost to history. Much of the information regarding her execution and arrest is a mystery, and besides the fact she was executed by hanging with 2 men little is known. She may have been linked to a murder or to arson, or she may have also been accused of witchcraft as this was greatly feared during the Tudor times. England did have a dark history with executing children, but Alice Glaston is considered a forgotten victim of Henry VIII.
