Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's future has looked increasingly uncertain, as he faces growing criticism over Israel's war in Gaza. Now, a sticking point remains in the negotiations, which is whether a truce would be permanent or temporary. Hamas says a deal would need to end the fighting for good, but Netanyahu has vowed to attack Rafah even if a cease-fire is reached.
