Blackmagic Unveils URSA Cine 12K Camera at NAB 2024

Blackmagic has made waves at NAB 2024 with the introduction of their groundbreaking URSA Cine 12K camera. Built from the ground up, this cinema camera is packed with features that filmmakers have been asking for.

8TB Built-In Storage and Blackmagic Cloud Integration
One of the most impressive aspects of the URSA Cine 12K is its 8TB media module, which comes standard with the camera. This module can record up to four hours of 12K footage, and the media can be easily removed for transfer or inserted into Blackmagic's media dock. The camera also features Wi-Fi connectivity and a 10Gb Ethernet port, allowing for seamless integration with Blackmagic Cloud for proxy and RAW file sharing.

AI-Powered Lens Calibration
Blackmagic has introduced an innovative AI-powered lens calibration system in the URSA Cine 12K. As Bob explains, "When you put a new lens on it, it recognizes the new lens, and then you open it all the way up and then close it all the way down so it knows the range and it measures it and knows where you are from fully open to closed." This feature works regardless of whether the lens provides metadata, giving filmmakers greater flexibility in their lens choices.
