Opening Catholic Evening Prayer
Oh Jesus, through the immaculate heart of Mary my Mother, I thank thee for all the graces given to me this day. You love me more than anybody else can. Your infinite goodness never ceases to sustain, guide, and provide for me. In you I live and move and have my being.

Everything that I have experienced this day, has been according to your Divine Will, for my eternal good and for your glory. I praise thee that nothing has happened by chance. Nothing has been a coincidence. All has come to me, from your loving heart.

In moments of both desolation and consolation, you draw me to yourself, and never ceased to be good to be. With Mary, my Mother I declare, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,"

Moved by your great love, I ask that you show me my sins committed this day, and the times I with held my heart from you.

O Holy Spirit. Source of all light, Spirit of wisdom, of understanding, and of knowledge, come to my assistance and enable me to recognize my sins.

Enlighten me, and help me now to know my sins, as one day I shall be force to recognize them before Thy judgment seat.

Bring to my mind the evil which I have done, and the good which I have neglected. Permit me not to be blinded by self-love.
