Following the missed tag and missed touch, Brewers first baseman Rowdy Tellez returned to and stepped on first base, Tosi signaling the runner out on appeal for missing a base.

The relevant rule is 5.09(c)(2): a runner is out when said runner "fails to touch each base in order before they, or a missed base, are tagged."
