The Formation of AEW’s Blackpool Combat Club (Documentary)

When Jon Moxley came back from a sabbatical in January 2022, nobody could have predicted the path he was going to take.

Jon Moxley has already cemented himself in one of the greatest factions in history - The Shield - in WWE, and Bryan Danielson tempted Jon Moxley to join another stable, which Moxley wasn't too keen on initially.

In the following weeks, Bryan Danielson set his sights on Jon Moxley - not for a fight, but to form a tag team together in which they would run AEW any way they see fit. And after shedding blood together at the Revolution pay-per-view in March 2022, William Regal debuted and forced the men to shake hands, and that cemented their alliance.

This is the story of the Blackpool Combat Club and how they formed; and how the faction ended up with Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli and William Regal as its only members.

I understand that some people might feel like this documentary ends abruptly; but this is entirely intentional as the BCC story is not finished. This video specifically chronicles the formation of the faction and how every member joined.

By the end of 2022's Blood & Guts; all members have wrestled under the Blackpool Combat Club banner at some point, and this felt like a natural resolution point as this is when their first feud with the Jericho Appreciation Society ended.
